Toyota Tacoma Front Bumper Support Brackets

These frame support brackets use the existing factory bumper mounts, but wrap around and tie into the front sway bar mounts, which better distributes the load when winching or performing a vehicle recovery. Although optional, we highly recommend these brackets if you plan to do any winching. These brackets specifically fit our Hi-Lite Tacoma Hi-Lite Overland Front Bumper [No Bull Bar] and Hi-Lite Tacoma Overland Front Bumper [Bull Bar].

Install Instructions

If you have your factory front sway bar, these brackets simply sandwich in between the frame and the sway bar while wrapping around to the studs on the factory front bumper mounts.

  1. Remove the 4 factory bolts from your sway bar (2 per side).
  2. Remove the 4 factory nuts from the factory bumper mounts (2 each side).
  3. Place the brackets in position on each side by lining up the holes in the bracket with the studs from the factory bumper mount. The bracket will then wrap around to where the sway bar was mounted to the frame.
  4. After the brackets are in place, loosely install the 4 factory nuts back onto the studs of the factory bumper mounts (2 nuts each side).
  5. Next, line up the 2 holes on the sway bar back over the new frame support bracket, and install the 2 new supplied sway bar bolts (repeat on other side).
  6. Make sure everything is adjusted properly and the frame support brackets are sandwiched between the frame and the sway bar, and tighten down all  hardware. Please reference our photos to insure a correct fit.

*You may need to slightly trim your plastic fender liner to allow clearance for the bracket.

*If you have an aftermarket suspension that incorporates a shock reservoir bracket into the sway bar brackets, you may have to purchase slightly longer bolts in order to sandwich the bracket or you may need to modify the bracket itself depending on your specific suspension setup.

Great quality.

"Made to last. Easy fitment. If you have ICON external reservoirs I highly suggest having the reservoirs relocated."

Awesome product!

"These are way more heavy duty than I thought! Definitely will add to the support of the bumper!"

Zack R. (5/5)

Overall, very pleased...but...

"I had a bit of trouble mounting these, they didn't fit with my bumper. Wound up having to take them to the grinder. The face where they bolt to the bumper mounts needed to be shaved about 1/8" and the "inside" edge needed about 1/16" taken off of it. Then they slid right on, bolting up perfectly."

A necessary add-on for your bumper!

"Having experienced frame plate bending before (and subsequent fixing) I know these to be essential to prevent damage. The weak OEM frame plates bend way too easily and these help to prevent that. That even goes for a hard recovery using only straps, etc. Even that can cause damage. So if you ever plan on using a bumper to recover, you absolutely need this."

Konrad (5/5)

MUST HAVE

"These are a must have! The added support surely finishes off the bumper and they are necessary especially if you add a winch to the setup. Backwoods products are top tier and very high quality from their best selling to products to smaller products, that includes these! Would highly recommend."
