Warranty & Returns

What is your warranty?

LIFETIME WARRANTY

We are proud to offer a lifetime warranty on the structure of each product to the original purchaser of the product. This applies to:

  • Defects in material and craftsmanship, which impair the use of the product for which it is intended
  • Conditions of normal and proper use

The warranty does NOT apply to defects caused by or due to improper installation, alteration, abuse, neglect, accident, corrosion, and normal wear and tear.

The warranty covers repair or replacement of the product, at our discretion, and only after receiving the product for inspection. The warranty does not  cover freight charges, labor cost, installation cost, incidental or consequential damages, or cost due to down time of the vehicle.

POWDER COAT WARRANTY

Due to normal wear and tear, and exposure to natural elements, we offer a 60-day warranty against defects in the powder coat. This includes reasonable sized gouges or scratches. Just like any other part of your vehicle, if you live in a climate that salts highways, make sure to spray down your components to prevent corrosion.

For small touch up applications, we've found that the Krylon Fusion Textured Black Spray Paint is an almost perfect match to our powder coat. For small scratches, we recommend this paint.

Please note: Any products returned for warranty consideration must be accompanied by a written description of the damage and how it happened, along with a copy of the original invoice at the time of purchase. Products are then inspected and must meet the warranty guidelines stated online for credit to be issued. If approved, Backwoods Adventure Mods will have a reasonable amount of time to remedy the defect and will repair or replace the product at no additional charge.

Can I return my order?

We do accept returns, however all products are subject to a 30% restocking fee. We will not accept returns 30 days after the customer has received the product. All products are subject to an inspection upon return. Please email info@backwoodsadventuremods.com for details.

Product Lead Times

What are your lead times?

In most cases, we batch build our products simply because we're set up that way. As a result, it's very difficult to provide an accurate lead time down to the week. We cannot and do not build singular product SKU's at a time. If it's not in stock, it will get queued into the next batch build, which usually resets roughly every 30 days. In most cases, we actually have product in stock, product currently being built, or product at powder coat.

Backwoods manufactured products have some of the shortest lead times in the industry. We think 10+ week lead times are simply unacceptable. To cut to the chase, we're a large scale production company, which means we use only the latest and greatest technology in tooling, lasers, brake presses, folders, and even robotics. On top of our tooling capabilities, we also have a crew of some of the best metal craftsmen in the business, all with years of experience. It's these reasons that give us a unique edge on small lead times and even allow us to have product in stock.

When will I know a product is back in stock?

We have a feature built into our website that shows live inventory for our products. If a product says "In stock", then we currently have that product. If a product says "Re-stocking soon", then it means exactly that – a batch build is on it's way or queued up.

We also have a way for you to be notified once product is back in stock. Just click the Nofity me button on the product page and enter your contact info and we'll send you a message once it's back. You can always still place your order anyway.

Is Backwoods build to order?

No. In most cases, we batch build our products simply because we're set up that way. As a result, it's sometimes difficult to provide an accurate lead time down to the week. We cannot and do not build singular product SKU's at a time. If it's not in stock, it will get queued into the next batch build, which usually resets roughly every 30 days. Van Products FAQs

Van full front bull bar bumpers with lightbar

All of our van front bull bar bumpers automatically ship with our special brackets that attach a 20" light bar to our bumper. How to Fix OEM Fog Light Warning when Removed (2019+ Sprinter)

Special thanks to Tim from Adrenaline Vans for the following information. "This has been our solution when replacing the factory bumper and eliminating the fog lamps on Sprinters. This has worked for us 100% of the time so far on both the NVC3 and VS30 platforms. That being said, I am not an electrical engineer, all I can say is this solution has worked flawlessly for us to eliminate the fog lamp warning that will come up when the original bulb is removed." -Tim

  • Make sure the vehicle is turned off and the battery is disconnected
  • We use this product: 50w 5ohm resistor available on Amazon
  • Remove factory bumper and leave fog lamps hanging from wiring harness
  • Cut wiring harness just behind the factory plug that goes into the back of the fog lamp
  • Remove the protective wire tape from the two leads (purple and brown generally) and bare the ends of the wire
  • Solder the resistor listed above between the two leads (you can also use terminal connectors should soldering equipment not be available).  There are also other versions of resistors available that include wire leads and crimp style wire taps.  This is also a viable option just be sure that the wattage and ohm rating of the resistor matches those listed above (50w 5ohm).  We prefer the solder option as it is a much more positive means of connection
  • Secure the resistor to the inside of the replacement bumper using 3M VHB double sided adhesive time.  Remember, this will get hot so keep the resistor away from other wiring. Using the double sided tape method it is easy to place the resistor in a location that doesn't contact other wires and is out of the weather
  • Once the rest of your sensors are installed switch on ignition such that the running light come on and ensure that no fog lamp warnings are present

2019+ Sprinter rear bumper exhaust overheating

Depending on your model of Sprinter, you may need to slightly trim the end of your exhaust pipe to prevent overheating. While it may look like our bumper should perfectly fit your stock exhaust, you must trim it just before the bumper. If you let your exhaust extend into/through our bumper, it will prevent the exhaust from having adequate heat dissipation and will heat up components surrounding the exhaust. Using a cutoff wheel to trim off the end of the exhaust about 6 inches away from the bumper will prevent any overheating. See full installation video here.

Pathfinder 2" pod lights install tip

If you have purchased our Pathfinder 2" LED pods for fog lights in your Backwoods bumper, they come preinstalled with a bracket. Make sure you FLIP the bracket in the other orientation because there isn't enough clearance to let the light properly sit in the fog light pocket. Simply unscrew the 2 bolts on each light with the included tools/allen key and flip the bracket around and reinstall. Your fog light should fit much better into the light pocket in your bumper.

Toyota Products FAQs

Does the connector skid plate work with the factory skid/TRD skid?

It does not. You will need an aftermarket skid plate system to attach our connector. It works with most aftermarket skid plate systems, but not all.

Can I use a roller fairlead on my 4Runner bumper?

Nope. Only hause style fairleads will fit with our bumper. They do work on Tacoma bumpers, however.

Roof Rack & Ladder FAQs

Can you mount a Fiamma F45 to our van roof racks?

Yes, we actually send brackets out with all our sprinters. Will work fine with the transit and promaster.
